The time has come. We are very happy to present the new, fresh, fat sound: Fatmagic - "Connecting Worlds" It was a long journey which brought us experience, spirit, impressions and magic and which made us decide to start working on this new album nearly two years ago. Today, so many months have passed by, we are overwhelmed about the outcome. After months in the studio, writing, composing and arranging, we made the decision spring 2012 to go to our recording studio in the Styrian mountains and kick off our most amazing and stunning experience since Fatmagic was born in 2009 in San Francisco. We put a lot of blood, sweat & tears into this project and along the road we got in touch with the greatest, most inspiring people you can imagine.
Unlike our first album and previous releases, we've decided to add some new genres to our sound and also add some nice extra live touch to it by recording the drums instead of programming. Thanks to Christian Schmid for doing an outstanding job, days and nights, week after week in the studio and recording some drum grooves we've came up with during our pre-production period plus rounding the entire thing out by adding this groovy pumpy extra flavor which we were looking for. Along with our unique and fabulous sounding NS Design instruments, the CR-4 cello and the CR-5 violin, we found the soundscape we already felt and had in our souls when starting writing the new songs. Thank you, Corey and Ned! What about the design? Well, surprise, surprise! We got a new design and are very thankful to have our great friend Dan Borufka doing our album design. He also designed our brand new logo and guys, it fu++ing ROCKS! Thank you, Dan! We were thinking...should we again do the mixing on our own? The answer was quick and short: nope. The entire new production along with enormous song arrangements were just too much for our CPUs and so we've decided to outsource the mixing for the first time... And along came Mr. Warren Huart (Aerosmith, James Blunt, Korn...) and made the impact happen. Mixing our entire album on his gorgeous big fat SSL 4000, he blew our minds entirely. The boss of the mix - 100% reliable, professional and incredibly helpful. We've learned a lot from you, Warren. Thank you, Warren! Last but not least, we are thrilled about having Mr. Evren Goknar (Capitol Records, Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M...) on board. The Grammy Award winning "master-mind" of Capitol Records gives our album the best finish you can imagine. Thank you, Evren! AND WHAT WOULD FATMAGIC BE WITHOUT OUR FANS OUT THERE, SUPPORTING US OVER SO MANY YEARS, OUR FAMILIES OVERSEAS AND KICKSTARTER BACKERS...YOU ARE AMAZINGLY AWESOMELY INCREDIBLY ROCKING!
